New Lights Illuminate Their Inaugural Game

Many friends and volunteers worked together with the Van Soccer Association Executive Officers, led by President Marcos Dos Santos and Vice President Luke Wineland during the last few weeks to accomplish a dream that was over 20 years in the making.
Two of Van’s very own U12 Teams, the Mean Green coached by Ignacio Tejeda and the Wolves coached by Aaron Vasquez, entered the field at twilight and played in what seemed like daylight.
Center Referee, Cory Harris, could easily call the sintillating game lit by ten 1500 Watt Metal Halide bulbs for an outstanding total of 1,305,000 lumens.
Electrician, Stefan Schmid, with the insight to conserve energy, wired each of the 5 new poles of two or four lights with switches, allowing light to be added only where needed, which includes two more lights each on two of the other previously lit fields.
The night time opportunities appear brighter for the Van Soccer Association.  Watch the website for your opportunity to enjoy a game of soccer in your own home town.
