We greatly value the Van City Library, not only because it provides our residents with countless books to read but also because it serves our community’s continuing education needs by offering extracurricular activities, additional learning opportunities, free public internet access, and so much more! Our library is a great asset to our town, a place where you can pick up a great book and chat with friends!

Founded in 2003, beginning as a small reading corner in the Van Community Center, our Community Library has grown and expanded, now possessing over 11,000 items within its collection. Still located in the Community Center, the library continues to serve the community in many ways, including:
- A weekly story time for preschoolers each Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. (Beginning September 11, 2013)
- Free internet access
- A Summer Reading Program is held annually in June and July,
- And many more community-enriching programs throughout the year.
The Van Kiwanis Club, AARP, Friends of the Library (FOL) and the rest of the community work together to assist the library with book collections and sponsoring of numerous, exciting fundraisers during the year. We’re very grateful that the Van community is made up of people with big hearts and a generous nature!
