The Van Chamber of Commerce is letting you know about the free clinic coming up in February. Friday, Feb 28 – Mar 1, 2014 – See information below. If you have any questions after reading this information you may call for more information, call 903-596-8353.
Low-income families soon will have an opportunity to receive free dental and vision care services as part of an East Texas Mission of Mercy program open to all low income homes in East Texas.
East Texas Mission of Mercy was created when several dentists in Tyler realized the need for dental care in East Texas. The purpose of the event is to provide free dental treatment and eye examinations for low-income adults and teens who cannot afford care.
Services to be provided are: dental examinations, extractions and oral surgery, dental fillings, eye exams, and vision care. For dental, priority services will be provided for pain, infection and necessary extractions. Fillings and other services will be provided as available at the treatment sites.
People are eligible if they have an income below 200 percent of the federal poverty level and are unable to afford the services. Local agencies, health departments, county indigent offices, or treatments facilities may identify prospective patients. However, all patients will have the personal responsibility to appear for the Mission of Mercy screening and their scheduled appointment the next day.
The Van Chamber of Commerce will be holding their monthly meeting Tuesday, February 4, 11:45 am at Tele’s Mexican Food restaurant.
YOU are invited! We’ll talk about what’s happening in Van and what the Chamber can do to help!
